In September 2010, Dr. Mary Carlson began her first shoe drive at a local street fair.
The tremendous community support and experience proved that there was an overwhelming need for this type of outreach service.
We are also partnering with the Walkabout Shelter for run away children in Freeport and Wantagh. We will be suppling new shoes to the facility.
Dr. Mary Carlson Update
After 15 years of podiatry care for Williston Park and the surrounding towns, Dr. Mary Carlson has retired on September 30th, 2020.
If you know Dr. Carlson, you know being a part of the community has always meant a lot to her. For years neighborhood children would visit her office on the day after Halloween with bags of candy as Dr. Carlson would faithfully exchange their extra candy for cash. The program allowed parents and kids to partake in a fun opportunity to connect with each other while helping to prevent an overindulgence of sweets.
In 2010 Dr. Carlson launched "Shoes For All", a not for profit organization created to help get shoes to those less fortunate. Throughout the years "Shoes For All" followed the values of Dr. Carlson's podiatry office with fundraising opportunities that would bring the town together. Their most popular event being "Day Without Shoes" where participants walked along the boardwalk at Jones Beach to feel what it was like to live without shoes.
Known for combining old fashioned compassionate care with state of the art technology, Dr. Carlson had a fulfilling career helping generations of patients become pain free, reclaiming their independence and enjoyment of life.
Dr. Carlson is eagerly looking forward to her next chapter in life by spending more time with her family and friends, traveling, and looking for new opportunities to give back to the community.
Shoes for All (SFA) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization formed because there are families; mothers, fathers and children who have tremendous financial problems right here in the United States.

Shoes For All, a not for profit organization since 2010 formed by Dr. Mary Carlson Podiatrist of Williston Park Long Island will donate over 60 new pairs of baseball cleats and coaches cleats to the students of Principal Luis Eladio Torres, P.S. 55. The elementary school is located at 450 St. Paul Place, South Bronx, NY 10456. This event will provide an opportunity for the students from ages 8 to 10 to have much needed cleats to participate in athletic activities. Athletic teams foster teamwork, camaraderie and commitment. Shoes For All is happy to help these young boys participate in Americas favorite past time, baseball.
Shoes For all has been giving away new and lovingy worn shoes for the past six years throughout Long Island and the five boughs. To date they have given away 48,000 pairs of shoes to poor and working poor families in need of this basic necessity. The overwhelming need for this type of outreach was and continues to be evident and Dr. Carlson continues to be the catalyst to those who had and give to those less fortunate.
SFA hopes to continue this partnership with P.S.55 and perhaps help other groups in need of footwear. Please visit us at www.shoesforall-sfa.com for more information.
We would just like to send our heartfelt thanks to Shoes For All for providing our children NEW sneakers. These students are either in temporary housing or living in a shelter. Many of these students do not have sneakers for gym, which makes it very hard to participate in any activity. This simple act of kindness will provide each student with a basic need that will make them feel special and loved. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Because of your generous donation, an unemployed woman who is not able to afford professional clothing, will look and feel her best when going on what may be her first interview in months of job searching.

Your benevolence is most welcomed at a time when our economy continues to be in a dismal state.
You can rest assured that your shoes will be utilized by this and surrounding communities.

This organization is based on the belief that there are families; mothers, fathers and children who have tremendous financial problems right here in the United States. We are a simple non-profit that guarantees that new shoes you donate will be worn by someone who is in need of this basic necessity, shoes.
Currently we are based in Long Island, New York and have donated to seven local organizations which include: Dress for Success, Interfaith Nutritional Network, St. Aidan's Parish Social Ministry, Lutheran Social Services, TLC 911, and the Aids Center of Queens County. With your help SFA will be able to serve even more outreach programs.
We are changing lives one step at a time by providing new shoes for the less fortunate. Shoes For All facilitates the collection of unused new shoes and distributes them to those in desperate need of foot wear. Our overall goal is simple, if you don't want to walk in your shoes then give them to someone who does.
